The remaster of this game has become a record holder for the fastest modification, reaching this status just a few weeks after its release, despite the lack of official mods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This information was made available thanks to data published on TheGamer’s portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rate of modification is impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bethesda games traditionally occupy the leading positions in terms of the number of modifications on the Nexus Mods platform. Among them, you can find such titles as Skyrim, its Special Edition reissue, Fallout 4, Fallout: New Vegas, and Oblivion, which are among the five most modified games of all time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fallout 3 is in seventh position, Morrowind is in ninth, and Starfield will complete the top ten. However, since the release of the Oblivion remaster, the game has become the subject of such intensive modification that no other game has experienced such significant growth before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The remaster was released on April 22, 2025, and two days after its release, it was noted to have undergone as many as 300 modifications. Despite Bethesda’s announcement that it had no intention of supporting changes, this did not stop fans from actively working on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of now, about 1,850 mods have already been developed for Oblivion Remastered, which is an average of 123 mods per day. The volume of 1,000 mods was reached in just 6 days, 19 hours, and 36 minutes, which became a new absolute record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For comparison, Skyrim Special Edition reached this figure in 7 days, 17 hours, and 30 minutes, which indicates a difference of one day. Throughout more than eight and a half years, Skyrim Special Edition has received over 109,000 mods – about 35 new mods per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Starfield hit the 1,000 mod mark in just over eight days, and in the 615 days since its release, players have created over 10,000 mods \u2014 an average of 16 per day. Other projects, such as Fallout 4, took 10 days, while The Witcher 3 and Fallout: New Vegas each took 13 days to reach 1,000 mods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interestingly, the original Oblivion took approximately 100 days to reach the same milestone, highlighting the significant changes in the modding community over the past two decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, such a rapid pace of modding probably won’t last long, as players tend to start with the most popular mods. However, it does indicate a massive appetite for modding, and Oblivion Remastered is now a new focus for the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
