Ukraine is experiencing a new surge in prices for dairy products, including kefir, milk, and sour cream, which is negatively affecting the financial condition of even the most frugal consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By the end of May, the price increase had become especially noticeable. For example, the regular milk of the “Prostonashe 1%” brand has increased in price by almost 4 hryvnias; its current cost is 53.56 hryvnias per 900 ml, compared to 49.75 hryvnias previously. And milk “Yagotynske 2.6%” has become even more expensive – its price has increased by 4.4 hryvnias and is now 57.35 hryvnias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kefir has also experienced a significant price increase. In particular, kefir “Selyansky 2.5%” has risen in price from 60.33 hryvnias to 65.95 hryvnias, and in some stores, the cost can reach 76.90 hryvnias for the same 900 ml package. This has truly become a dairy surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sour cream is still rising less noticeably; for example, sour cream “President 15%” has increased its price from 53.14 hryvnias to 53.99 hryvnias for 350 grams. Although the increase may seem insignificant, it is still noticeable to consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Such a rapid change in prices for basic dairy products is evidence of the humanitarian challenges facing the country and their impact on consumers. These circumstances are partly related to the military aggression by Russia, which began in 2014, leading to significant economic costs for the country’s defense and reconstruction. In this situation, it is crucial not to stay on the sidelines – an active public stance and volunteer assistance can have a significant impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
