In April, oil prices fell to a record low of $60 per barrel, resulting in a decrease in fuel prices. Last month, the cost of gasoline and other types of fuel decreased by 1-1.5 hryvnias per liter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gennady Ryabtsev, head of research projects at the Psyche Scientific and Technological Center, noted that changes in fuel prices depend on two main factors: the cost of oil and the exchange rate of the euro to the hryvnia. Last month, the first factor contributed to a decrease in prices, while the second, conversely, led to an inevitable increase in prices. As a result, the reduction in fuel prices was not as noticeable as it could have been.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently, oil prices rose again to $66 per barrel. If this trend continues, gasoline and diesel fuel prices are likely to rise. However, price increases are possible only if the quotes have been steadily increasing for one or two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Serhiy Kuyun, head of the A-95 agency, emphasized that predicting the price of oil is a challenging task due to the market’s strong dependence on political announcements and actions by the United States regarding energy prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under current conditions, the expert believes that diesel fuel may become cheaper by another hryvnia per liter since suppliers have a certain margin of safety in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
