Some Ukrainians can receive an increase in their pension for service exceeding the norm, although not everyone is aware of how it is calculated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, we will tell you how to understand what payments you are entitled to and why sometimes additional fees can be almost imperceptible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you have been assigned a disability pension, its size depends on your length of service and salary. For people with group III, it is 50% of the old-age pension. For example, if the old-age pension is 4,000 hryvnias, then for group III, it will be 2,000 hryvnias. However, there is a Cabinet resolution that prohibits paying less than the subsistence minimum – 2,361 hryvnias. And if you have a long service, the pension automatically increases to 3,323 hryvnias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The additional payment for overtime service is accrued for each year after 35 years for men and 30 years for women, with a maximum of 23 hryvnias 61 kopecks per year. However, this amount is included in the total pension amount, so it is often not noticeable. For example, for 4 years of overtime work, the additional payment will be only 94 hryvnias 44 kopecks. For people in the disability group of III, it will be even less, 47 hryvnias 22 kopecks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interestingly, the length of service before retirement age is also taken into account in case of disability. That is, if the pension was assigned at the age of 37, and there are 23 years left until 60, these years are added to the actual length of service. As a result, it will be 39 years, not 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, if you decide to switch from a disability pension to a regular one, this additional length of service will disappear. Therefore, in some cases, changing the type of pension may be inappropriate, especially when discussing a disability group of I or II, where the payments are higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To understand the detailed calculations, you can contact the Pension Fund’s account, but not everyone can easily comprehend this information. In such cases, it is advisable to consult with specialists from the Pension Fund or seek additional information from open sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
