In Ukraine, as of 2024, more than 17,000 people declared an income exceeding one million hryvnias, thus becoming millionaires. This was reported by Danylo Getmantsev, the head of the Finance Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, on his Telegram channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the tax declaration campaign this year, Ukrainians declared a total income of 474 billion hryvnias, which is 93.5 billion more than last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The number of citizens whose declared income exceeds one million hryvnias attracted attention. This time, there were more than 17 thousand of them, which is 1,300 more than in 2023. Getmantsev emphasized the importance of tax revenues from wealthy Ukrainians for the budget, especially in times of war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMore than 17 thousand Ukrainians have become official millionaires, and these are not just words, but real statistics of our current declaration campaign,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite this, the total number of people who filed declarations decreased by 22% to approximately 363,000 people. This is probably because some of the active declarants have left the country and are no longer subject to Ukrainian tax regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The declaration campaign targets individuals who are required to report income not related to wages, including income from rent, services, foreign contracts, and independent professional activities.
