The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine declares active forced recruitment of citizens from Central Asia into the Russian troops. Migrant workers from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and other countries of the region who came to Russia to work are at risk. Many of them lose their lives on the front lines in the first weeks of service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the GUR, Russian security forces attract foreigners to participate in combat operations, offering them “quick earnings” under short-term contracts. However, the chances of completing their service and saving their lives are extremely low. Migrants are sent to the most dangerous areas of the front, often without proper training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the latest fatalities are Umarov Syrozhiddin Sabirdzhanovich, born in 1984, originally from Tashkent, a private in the 164th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, and Kholbuvozoda Muhammad Fayzullo, born in 1984, who received the call sign “Basmach,” a private in the 1st Motorized Rifle Regiment. He signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense on February 25, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These cases reflect the growing practice of Russia using citizens of other countries as “human shields,” sending them to active combat zones. Recruited migrants are usually combined into special units that are sent to the front lines, where the risk of death is particularly high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the threat of death, such “volunteers” face legal problems at home. Under Uzbek and Tajik law, joining the armed forces of a foreign state can result in criminal liability and long prison terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Intelligence highlights that Russia is exploiting vulnerable migrants as a resource to replenish its military losses, attempting to compensate for personnel shortages at the expense of other people’s lives in its aggressive war.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
