On June 27, Russian troops struck a vital energy facility in the Kherson region, the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result of the attack, power supply issues arose in several settlements in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I ask the residents of the region to prepare for a possible long-term power outage,” Prokudin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also reported that energy workers are actively working to stabilize the situation, but the scale of the damage could lead to a prolonged blackout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This attack was not the first, as in recent weeks, Russian troops have regularly shelled the energy infrastructure of the Kherson region. For example, on June 19, a Khersonoblenergo employee died as a result of shelling, and on June 11, large areas were left without electricity as a result of the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regular strikes on energy facilities in Ukraine are aimed at increasing pressure on the civilian population and destabilizing the operation of critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
