The company “Automagistral-Pivden” has become the subject of a serious investigation. The owner, Oleksandr Boyko, has been suspected in a case involving the embezzlement of over 240 million hryvnias. The case concerns the construction of a crucial water pipeline intended to serve as an alternative following the collapse of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the National Police, the company received about 7.4 billion hryvnias from the state budget under several contracts. However, investigators claim that instead of fulfilling its obligations, a group of individuals organized a scheme to embezzle funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At present, the embezzlement of over 240 million hryvnias has been confirmed, but the investigation suggests possible losses of several billion hryvnias. Five participants in the case have already been charged and may face up to twelve years in prison with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Department of Strategic Investigations reported that the company’s managers, some officials, and consultants, who together organized a scheme to withdraw funds through fictitious expenses, were involved in the corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko took the case under personal control. In his statement, he confirmed the legality and validity of all the suspicions raised, emphasizing the accuracy of the conclusions based on expert research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, the company’s Deputy General Director, Valeriy Vakarchuk, reported that the company has not yet received compensation for the work performed. The state debt to the company exceeds 7 billion hryvnias. He emphasized that the company incurs significant costs for maintaining the water supply system, which remains uncompensated by the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Representatives of the company also claim that the project was financed with their funds, and the debt during construction reached 2.5 billion hryvnias. The state did not provide funds even for the purchase of pipes, and the supplier received financing through deferred payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
