In Bukovina, cases of corruption among officials have been re-recorded: the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office has raised suspicions against nine officials and heads of state institutions who, according to the investigation, abused their positions, embezzled budget funds, and engaged in illegal mining. The total losses amount to about 23 million hryvnias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among those who came under suspicion are local government officials, heads of municipal and state enterprises, deputies, and representatives of the land sector. The prosecutor’s office plans to take measures to remove all suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The acting director of the “Bukovyna State Agricultural Research Station” of the NAAS of Ukraine sold agricultural products at undervalued prices, which led to losses of 5.2 million hryvnias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The director of a municipal enterprise in Sokyryany organized illegal limestone mining, resulting in an additional 5 million UAH in budget losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former head of the Khotynskyi National Nature Park accrued illegal bonuses, resulting in a loss of over 385 thousand UAH to the budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deputy head of the Lviv branch of the Land Cadastre Center developed technical documentation based on forged documents, which led to the illegal loss of land plots with a total value of over 10 million UAH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The head of the Chudeyska territorial community admitted to embezzling the budget for over 866 thousand UAH during the construction of a football field with an artificial surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A deputy of the Zastavnivska city council, who served as the head of education, culture, youth, and sports, is involved in financial abuses amounting to over 280 thousand UAH during the overhaul of the catering unit in an educational institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A deputy and general director of the Kitsmanska Hospital purchased air conditioners at inflated prices, causing losses of 370 thousand UAH to the budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The director of the Hlybotsky Vocational Lyceum committed embezzlement of over 320 thousand UAH during the procurement of services for the repair of a dormitory for internally displaced persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A former head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration overestimated the cost of construction work to strengthen the banks of the Cheremosh River, which led to losses of over 430 thousand UAH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All nine individuals are suspected under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including embezzlement of property, abuse of power, illegal mining, and money laundering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under the control of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor’s Office, with the participation of the police and other law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
