Yuriy Antoshchuk, coordinator of the network of Working Groups for Public Safety and Recovery in the Kherson region, reported a significant deterioration in the security situation in the area. He noted that the “red zone” is constantly expanding, and the number of enemy attacks is increasing, in connection with which the list of settlements from which mandatory evacuation is required is increasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his post on the social network, he also indicated: “Only the Dnieper and the Defense Forces save us.” Antoshchuk emphasized that a year and a half ago, trips to Stanislav or Belozerka were safe, but now Stanislav has become a ghost town, and Belozerka is inaccessible. Perekopska Street in Kherson has already been dubbed the “street of death.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Previously, about a thousand drone attacks were recorded in Kherson per week, but now this figure exceeds one and a half thousand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Antoshchuk noted: “We have provided recommendations to civilians on how to protect themselves from drones, but this is just a drop in the ocean.” Although drone protection nets have now been introduced, the effectiveness of electronic warfare is limited: enemy MLRS can hit entire neighborhoods, and if necessary, the Russian army uses aerial bombs to destroy barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The danger has also affected areas that have begun to recover after de-occupation. For example, Chornobayvka is under threat from drones, and the road on the border of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions remains under fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Residents are facing significant domestic problems: shops are closing in some areas of Kherson, as a result of which people have to travel long distances to buy necessary goods. Numerous areas of the city have been left without heating and water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Antoshchuk expressed particular concerns about the autumn period. He warns that with the onset of cold weather, when the leaves fall from the trees, the enemy will become more active in laying petal mines in the streets. This will significantly complicate the movement of residents and will become an additional threat. Later, we should also expect informational and psychological attacks aimed at demoralizing the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Charitable organizations are already feeling the pressure; some of them are moving due to the growing risks. But Kherson remains a front-line city that suffers from shelling every day and at the same time continues to live.
