Can young people postpone their completion?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Lawyer Yuriy Ayvazyan reported that his colleagues were approached by a student who asked the following question: &#8220;I am 18 years old, I am in my second year of university. It is known that basic military training begins <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">on September 1<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. This coincides with my summer vacation, and I plan to move to another city at the end of June, allowing the BGMT to begin at this time. I also have a limited fitness for service due to flat feet. Can I postpone the practical part of the training to next year, or not complete it at all?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to the lawyer, postponing the BGMT is possible, but this requires obtaining permission from the educational institution. &#8220;Permission to postpone the practical part of the training to the next year must be provided by the heads of the higher education institution, if there are good reasons,&#8221; he noted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, the lawyer emphasized that students cannot refuse to undergo basic training, as this may lead to their expulsion from the educational institution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Some categories of students, however, may be exempted from the BZVP, in particular:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">persons recognized as unfit for military service due to health conditions;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Current or former military personnel, including those who served in other countries before obtaining Ukrainian citizenship;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Students who have already completed basic training and have a certificate in the acquired military accounting specialty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Earlier, it was stated that only a few are sent to the front, while the majority of those mobilized are left behind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The issues of fines for refusing to establish Reserve+ and the situation with school closures in Ukraine, as well as alternatives for students, were also discussed.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new stage of basic general military training (BGMT) for students is starting in Ukraine.
