The period of “Indian Summer” in Ukraine: features and forecasts for 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Indian Summer” is genuinely a unique period when autumn still pleases us with a few warm sunny days. Usually, they try to observe it in late September or early October, and according to forecasts, it will arrive later than usual in 2025. This phenomenon gives the last warm days before a gradual cooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meteorologist Igor Kibalchych notes that “Indian Summer” is usually celebrated after the first cold snap and lasts from several days to two weeks. In the region of Ukraine, this period is typically observed in early September, although it may also occur in August or October. One of the interesting aspects of this phenomenon is the possibility of two “Indian Summers” – early and late, which depends on weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This term has its roots in ancient Slavic traditions, where women, after completing seasonal fieldwork, received several days of rest. Another version is that the spider web, glowing in the sun, reminded one of the gray hair of older women. In different countries, this phenomenon has its own names: in Germany, “Altweibersommer”, in the USA and Great Britain, “Indian Summer”, in France, “\u00e9t\u00e9 de la Saint-Martin”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Signs of an “Indian summer” include abnormally warm weather, which can exceed normal values by 5-10 \u00b0C, clear skies, no frost, and dry days. This period usually occurs after the average daily temperature drops below +15 \u00b0 C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Forecasts for 2025 suggest that the “Indian summer” may shift in timing. In the first days of September, heat is expected to persist, but at night in the north and east, it may already be cool, ranging from +6 to +11 \u00b0C. In the second decade of September, we can observe the arrival of dry and hot air from Central Asia, so the real “Indian summer” will probably be felt in late September or early October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
