Employees of the Beb Territorial Administration in the Transcarpathian region, together with the prosecutor’s office, raised suspicions about a deputy of the Khust City Council who allegedly organized the illegal sale of electronic cigarettes on the territory of their yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the detectives, it was discovered during the investigation that the deputy had created a small trade pavilion in his yard, where he sold electronic cigarettes and liquids to them without paying excise tax. He purchased the goods through specialized telegrams and then resold them to local consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During a search, law enforcement officers found and seized more than a thousand pieces of liquids for electronic cigarettes, as well as cigarettes that were sold without excise duty brands. This indicates their origin from illegal sources and confirms the existence of organized unlawful trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deputy is charged with the purchase, storage, and sale of illegally manufactured excise goods, which provides for criminal liability. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are investigating possible channels of supply for smuggled products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also in the Chernivtsi region, the activity of an organized group was stopped, which produced counterfeit driving licenses and passports. This scheme has brought more than two million hryvnias of illegal profits that they tried to legalize.
