Discussing the teacher in front of a child. Children perceive their parents as the most crucial authority. If parents express a negative opinion about the teacher, this can form in the child the idea that respect for the teacher is not essential. This can lead to the child not taking the teacher seriously, losing the opportunity to gain new knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allowing tardiness and absenteeism without a good reason. When parents allow their children to be late or skip classes, this forms in them the idea that following the rules is not mandatory. “It is in childhood that discipline and responsibility are formed. If today it is allowed to skip school, tomorrow the child may miss an important exam,” notes Ms. Svitlana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Excuse the unwillingness to study. Parents who do not require their children to make efforts in learning, in fact, deprive them of willpower. Teaching perseverance and effort in difficult moments is an essential skill for adult life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deny the child’s wrong actions. Parents who believe that their child will never do anything bad (for example, will not lie or offend) prevent them from learning from their mistakes. This can lead to a lack of awareness of responsibility for their actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do not recognize the child’s true potential. Not all children can be excellent students, and if parents force them to achieve unattainable goals, this can cause stress in them. “In the pursuit of high grades, you can lose fundamental values \u200b\u200b- interest in learning and internal motivation,” the teacher summarizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
