On October 18, Russian forces carried out a new strike on Sumy, using drones to attack the city. The targets of the shelling were the railway station and a gas station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was reported on the Telegram channel of Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar and Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleg Grigorov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Four people were injured as a result of the attack. A 32-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were wounded at the station. Two women aged 51 and 53 were injured as a result of an FPV drone hitting a gas station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the city authorities, the hits broke windows in passenger cars and the station, and also damaged the gas station market, a vehicle, and adjacent infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kobzar noted: “As a result of the enemy strikes, they were recorded near educational institutions and railway infrastructure facilities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The regional military administration added that the attack targeted key railway transport facilities. Police, bomb disposal experts, and rescuers are working at the scene. Criminal proceedings have been opened for the shelling, which is alleged to have violated international humanitarian law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the day on October 18, 58 shellings were recorded in the Sumy region, affecting 48 settlements. As a result, residential buildings, educational institutions, and enterprises were damaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The regional military administration called on citizens to follow air raid warning signals: “The enemy is cunning. Do not ignore the warning signals – it can save your life.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the night of October 19, the Dnipropetrovsk region also suffered drone attacks, as a result of which three five-story buildings were damaged and fires broke out; psychologists are working on the spot to assist the victims.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
