These changes will apply to all refugees and will not allow them to leave, even if the purpose of the trip is to return to their homeland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to the new rules, travel abroad will be limited, except for serious personal reasons. In the event of illness or death of a close relative, a stay in the country of origin is allowed for a maximum of 30 days. It is also specified that refugees can leave to resolve issues related to property, education, or employment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The changes to the legislation were approved by parliament back in 2021, but implementation was delayed due to the temporary protection granted to Ukrainian refugees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ukrainians staying in Switzerland still have some freedom of movement. They can stay in Ukraine for up to 15 days within 6 months. Previously, this period was three months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In 2024, the Swiss authorities plan to implement the new rules for all asylum seekers finally. There is an intention to prepare separate provisions for Ukrainians.
