The situation in the capital is becoming increasingly alarming: entrepreneurs are finding their signs disappearing in unexpected circumstances. The dismantling is carried out even without court decisions or warnings. Employees of “Kyivreklama” remove signs from buildings, even when the owners are on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the victims, Gennady, who owns the “DOMA” cafe, said that the dismantling began without any documents. When he tried to prevent this, one of the employees used force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It became difficult for me to breathe. I tried to break free and asked why. To which he replied that, perhaps, he likes to hug,” shared Gennady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For him, the name of the institution had a crucial emotional meaning, because it was supposed to remind him of Donetsk and Mariupol. But now the sign has disappeared, and with it a part of his identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gennady believes that the dismantling is not only illegal but also mocking. No official documents were provided, and neither acts nor orders were presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“They simply removed the sign and left. This is a blatant violation of the law,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A similar situation occurred with Ms. Svitlana, whose store sign was also dismantled without explanation. She said that by the time her saleswoman went outside, everything had already been removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I asked to return the sign, indicating that it was private property. And they told me that they would not return anything. There were no documents,” she recalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Svitlana claims that there was a signed contract with the housing association for the installation of the sign. However, this did not stop the utility workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lawyers also express concern about this situation. Lawyer Tetyana Ivanova noted that the city administration is treating signs as outdoor advertising, contrary to the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Kyiv authorities mistakenly believe that any business marking is advertising. However, the law does not provide for such an interpretation, which creates confusion,” Ivanova noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The dismantling of signs has affected not only private entrepreneurs. They are also disappearing from the buildings of state institutions. Journalists contacted Kyivreklama regarding the Ukrzaliznytsia sign at 5 Jerzy Giedroyc Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response, it was stated that the sign was installed in violation of certain norms, but this was based solely on formal requirements that do not apply to the specific sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, the situation continues to worsen. Entrepreneurs receive new notifications about the dismantling of signs without any grounds.
