The Russian Ambassador was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry due to shelling that damaged the embassy in Kyiv.<\/p>\n
On Friday, November 14, 2025, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry invited the Russian Ambassador to Baku, Mikhail Evdokimov, to discuss the consequences of the missile strike on Kyiv, which damaged the embassy. The department’s press service reported this.<\/p>\n
According to official sources, at about 1 am, an Iskander missile hit the territory of the diplomatic institution. As a result of the explosion, part of the protective wall was damaged, along with several official vehicles, an administrative building, and a consular department.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, a note of protest was handed over, in which the Azerbaijani side noted that, fortunately, none of the employees were injured, but the damage was significant.<\/p>\n
The ministry noted that this was not the first such incident. For example, on March 10, 2022, the shelling of the Honorary Consulate building in Kharkiv destroyed parts of the administrative building and rendered the official car unusable.<\/p>\n
Another incident occurred on January 2, 2024, when a Kinzhal rocket exploded less than 40 meters from the main building of the embassy in Kyiv. This also led to the formation of a large crater at the explosion site.<\/p>\n
In addition, on August 28, 2025, shelling of the surrounding area occurred, which caused further damage to the diplomatic mission building, including the consulate, administration, and the ambassador’s residence.<\/p>\n
Azerbaijan also recalled the drone strikes that occurred on August 8 and 18 on the SOCAR oil depot in the Odessa region, which resulted in injuries to employees and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasized that all the coordinates of diplomatic missions in Ukraine were transferred to the Russian side back in April 2022, and Moscow then assured that this data would be taken into account during hostilities.<\/p>\n
Baku considers such attacks unacceptable and calls for a detailed investigation of all incidents.<\/p>\n
