Yaremche, famous for its natural beauty, is preparing for a new tourist season. However, against the background of investments and development, a story is emerging that calls into question the actions of local authorities. It concerns the development of a coastal area associated with the mayor’s family and a local developer.<\/p>\n

In October 2025, the Yaremche City Council decided to change the purpose of 3 hectares of land in the village of Mykulychyn. Two plots belong to the mother-in-law of the mayor, Andriy Myronyak, Maria Vasylchuk, and his wife, Nadiya Myronyak. According to the city council, the land was transferred for use back in 2008. However, the cadastral map shows that the borders of these plots partially overlap with the national park, and one of them occupies the river’s coastal strip.<\/p>\n
According to the legislation, coastal zones have a special status and are subject to restrictions on use. Construction in these areas is allowed only if the established rules are observed. However, during the journalists’ visit, work was already underway on this territory, foundations were being poured, and the workers avoided communication and left the place as soon as the camera appeared. The police and rescuers, called in due to a forest fire, documented the illegal activity.<\/p>\n
The third plot is relevant between the two mentioned. It was registered in October by Stepan Lavriv, an entrepreneur who owns 122 land plots in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He also manages several construction companies, in particular, LLC “Efektbud”, which is actively working in the area.<\/p>\n
This company has already implemented the project of the cottage town “Pavza Village&Spa” on the other bank of the river.<\/p>\n
In June, the developer announced a new construction stage on the other bank. According to the plan, cafes, a restaurant, a children’s center, a bathhouse complex, and an observation mill will be located here. These objects coincide with the mayor’s family’s plots. Offers for the sale of cottages in the new complex have already appeared on the LUN platform – prices start from 4.5 million to over 12 million hryvnias.<\/p>\n
Mayor Andriy Myronyak assures that he has nothing to do with his wife’s activities, stating, “All questions are for them.” However, the question of the lack of construction permits remains unanswered.<\/p>\n
In 2024, the Yaremche City Council amended the General Plan to allow multi-story buildings, including hotels. Since then, residents have increasingly expressed concern about the chaotic development that threatens the city’s authenticity.<\/p>\n
Development is ongoing not only in Mykulychyn. In Yaremche, the Efektbud company has begun construction of the Oseliya apartment hotel, which is currently only 10% complete.<\/p>\n
Public activists are actively raising this issue, drawing the attention of anti-corruption organizations. The chairman of the NGO “Stop Corruption,” Ihor Bondarchuk, noted that cases of abuse in the community are increasing, urging residents to report any possible violations.<\/p>\n
Yaremche is indeed developing, but along with new investments comes a growing risk that nature, laws, and community interests may yield to private profits. Whether the city can cope with these challenges remains to be seen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
