The Prosecutor General’s Office, in cooperation with detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security, uncovered a criminal scheme in which the company imported metal products for more than a year using false documents and evaded taxes totaling 9.8 million hryvnias.<\/p>\n
According to the investigation, the company supplied bolts and nuts to Ukraine, which were subject to anti-dumping duties.<\/p>\n
To avoid increased duties, fake certificates of origin were submitted to customs officials, allegedly issued by the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. However, this institution officially confirmed that it did not issue any such documents.<\/p>\n
The investigation revealed that the certificates and invoices were produced using computer technology. Based on them, the company submitted seven customs declarations, declaring the products as Malaysian to avoid customs duties and VAT. As a result, the state received 9.8 million hryvnias less.<\/p>\n
The head of the enterprise has already been charged under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Prosecutors have asked the court to apply a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of the damages caused.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
