Joshua explains that the white coating is caused by humidity in the refrigerator, leading to &#8220;sugar bloom&#8221; that forms sugar crystals on the slab&#8217;s surface.<\/p>\n<p>Chocolate has a long shelf life &#8211; from 10 months to two years, and for dark chocolate, this period is even longer due to its low milk content.
