The head of the ULF medical service, Olena Mikhailova, reported that conscripts with various diseases, who are usually entitled to postpone or declare themselves unfit for service, have begun to arrive in military units.<\/p>\n
According to her, these people receive confirmation of their fitness from territorial recruitment centers (TCKs) and are then sent to military units. The real state of their health is revealed only after they arrive at the units, where military doctors conduct an examination.<\/p>\n
Mikhailova emphasized that this situation leads to absurdity – units are forced to compete not to receive seriously ill people who cannot perform combat missions and gradually end up in medical units.<\/p>\n
Noting this problem, the specialist said that military doctors are becoming guardians for people who should not have been mobilized. The TCK demands that everyone they consider fit be accepted, hinting that refusing to accept such people could lead to a future personnel shortage.<\/p>\n
This creates a paradox: instead of forming combat-ready units, the military receives people who need long-term medical care, not service in the army.<\/p>\n
Mykhaylova noted that this practice has serious negative consequences, including:<\/p>\n
– a decrease in the combat capability of units;<\/p>\n
– overloading of military doctors;<\/p>\n
– an increase in costs for the treatment and rehabilitation of persons unfit for service;<\/p>\n
– the risk of disability for those for whom service is contraindicated;<\/p>\n
– a loss of time and resources.<\/p>\n
The specialist emphasized that without systemic changes, the situation can only worsen, creating problems that will then have to be solved in the rear and in medical institutions.<\/p>\n
Doctors and the military have repeatedly called for:<\/p>\n
– strengthening control over the decisions of the military medical commission (MMC);<\/p>\n
– a ban on sending seriously ill people to units without a complete medical examination;<\/p>\n
– ensuring transparency and accountability at all stages of mobilization.<\/p>\n
Mykhaylova emphasized that mobilization must not only be safe but also effective in protecting the country and Ukrainians themselves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
