The relevant bill has already been included in the government agenda, initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration.<\/p>\n<p>According to the new changes, after March 4, 2026, Ukrainians will have the same status as other foreigners. The Ministry of Internal Affairs spokeswoman, Karolina Halecka, announced this.<\/p>\n<p>The special law was adopted on March 12, 2022, in response to the large influx of refugees due to the war in Ukraine. It simplified the legalization process and provided access to state services, education, medical care, and social benefits.<\/p>\n<p>The new bill aims to end these emergency measures. The ministry notes that the current situation allows for a transition to normal legal norms. &#8220;After almost four years, the situation with refugees in Poland has become more stable, and state institutions have adapted to normal procedures,&#8221; the ministry notes.<\/p>\n<p>The document provides for the gradual abolition of special provisions, transitional mechanisms, and new rules on payments, doing business, student benefits, visas, and legal residence.<\/p>\n<p>The discussions are mainly driven by issues in healthcare, education, and the &#8220;800+&#8221; program. Karolina Halecka emphasized that Ukrainians will be able to receive emergency medical care, but for other medical services, they will have to work and pay contributions. As for payments, the &#8220;800+&#8221; program will be available only to those parents who are officially working in Poland.<\/p>\n<p>The last extension of temporary protection for Ukrainians took place in September 2025 and was signed by Karol Nawrocki.
