A woman lived in the Kyiv region and kept a fox in her apartment. Law enforcement officers opened a criminal case, as the situation turned out to be an example of animal cruelty. The Kyiv police reported this.<\/p>\n
The incident was reported thanks to information from social networks. During the inspection of the woman\u2019s apartment, a dead fox was discovered. According to the police, both animals \u2014 the fox and the previously seized wolf \u2014 were purchased online and were kept in inappropriate conditions.<\/p>\n
Earlier, on December 21, animal rights activists seized a wolf from the same apartment that had bitten the owner and caused her serious injuries. The victim was hospitalized, and the animal was transferred to the Wild Animal Rescue Center for care.<\/p>\n
A pre-trial investigation into the fox case is currently underway. The police are taking measures to determine further actions regarding other animals in the apartment.<\/p>\n
The Wild Animal Rescue Center emphasizes that keeping wild creatures at home poses a threat to both people and the animals themselves, and will do everything possible to avoid similar situations in the future.<\/p>\n
The UAnimals organization also appealed to the police and the State Environmental Inspectorate with a statement about the cruel treatment of animals at the Odessa Zoo.
