Deputies of the Zmiyiv community in the Kharkiv region have prepared a 2026 budget totaling 300 million hryvnias. At the same time, the funds allocated to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine are impressively small \u2014 only 4 million hryvnias, or 1.3% of the total amount. This information was made public by Larisa Bodareva, a representative of the local branch of the All-Ukrainian public organization “Stop Corruption”.<\/p>\n
The budget contains 29 target programs. To emphasize the lack of funds for the Armed Forces, Bodareva proposed to redistribute part of the funding from other articles, in particular:<\/p>\n
– 1.2 million hryvnias intended for commercial publications.
\n– 6 million hryvnias, which were planned to be spent on repairing the facade of the police department.<\/p>\n
She also drew attention to plans to spend 350,000 hryvnias on installing stationary video equipment, 800,000 hryvnias on hotel repairs, and 5.620 million hryvnias on modernizing the dormitory.<\/p>\n
During the hearings, Bodareva reported that the potential amount of budget redistribution is about 60 million hryvnias. In her opinion, the draft budget for 2026 has a peaceful, not a military, character and does not take into account the realities the community faces in times of war.<\/p>\n
The problem of insufficient funding of the Armed Forces has been discussed in the community for a long time. Residents of Zmiiv Oblast actively support their defenders and initiate petitions to finance their needs.<\/p>\n
Nineteen thousand internally displaced persons live on the territory of the community, and support for them is planned at 700,000 hryvnias for 2026. But the city budget does not provide funds for volunteer organizations, which are already few in number.<\/p>\n
On December 25, deputies will discuss the 2026 budget. Bodareva and representatives of public organizations plan to submit their comments and suggestions.
