Border guards have already noted an increase in queues at checkpoints, so the State Border Guard Service reminds us of what to pay attention to when checking documents to avoid unpleasant situations during the trip.<\/p>\n
The State Border Guard Service spokesman, Andriy Demchenko, spoke about key details of border crossings in an interview with the media.<\/p>\n
Many Ukrainians travel to Europe for the holidays, while those currently in EU countries often return home to celebrate Christmas and New Year with their families. To cross the border without problems, it is worth checking your documents in advance.<\/p>\n
In particular, you need to make sure that your passport has not expired. Otherwise, crossing the border will be impossible. Andriy Demchenko notes that, under current legislation, border guards are obliged to grant permission to enter Ukraine, even if the documents are expired. However, entry into other countries is only possible with a valid passport.<\/p>\n
Therefore, if the passport expires, the citizen must either renew it or contact the Ukrainian diplomatic missions to obtain a return permit.<\/p>\n
Also, relatives or companions traveling with a child must provide documents confirming family ties or allowing them to cross the border with minors.<\/p>\n
“During the war, only parents can travel abroad with children without the consent of the other parent. Other relatives must have the appropriate documents,” Andriy Demchenko noted.<\/p>\n
