The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the launch of a series of precision strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure on New Year’s Eve, which led to the destruction of essential facilities that provided Russian troops with fuel and ammunition.<\/p>\n
On the night of December 31, the Ukrainian defense forces launched numerous targeted strikes on key facilities of the aggressor’s fuel infrastructure. According to the General Staff, the attacks were aimed at reducing the enemy’s military-economic potential and complicating the logistical support of its army.<\/p>\n
The main target was the Tuapse Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Territory, which was hit by drones. As a result of the attacks, a fire broke out on the plant’s premises, and the primary oil processing unit and deep processing complexes were also damaged. This plant is one of the largest in Russia, supplying the Russian armed forces with gasoline, diesel, and other petroleum products.<\/p>\n
Another target for attacks was the oil and gas terminal “Tamanneftegaz” near the village of Volna in the Krasnodar Territory, which specializes in the storage and transshipment of oil and gas. As a result of the strike, two berths with oil loading facilities were damaged.<\/p>\n
In addition, Ukrainian drones attacked the “Temp” facility in the city of Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region, which is part of Russia’s strategic reserves and stores large volumes of petroleum products. The strike sparked a major fire at the oil depot.<\/p>\n
Attacks were also recorded temporarily for enemy boats near Olenivka in occupied Crimea and on ammunition depots located in the areas of the occupied settlements of Blizhne and Siyatel in the Donetsk region.<\/p>\n
The General Staff noted that the extent of the damage is currently being clarified. Still, all strikes on Russia’s rear infrastructure are aimed at weakening its military capabilities in continuing the conflict with Ukraine.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that Ukrainian long-range drones hit two facilities on Russian territory: an oil depot in Rybinsk and an oil refinery in Tuapse, where the port pier was also damaged.<\/p>\n
