In Ukraine, citizens can receive free rehabilitation after injuries, operations, or serious illnesses. The state covers the costs of such services if the treatment is provided in healthcare institutions that have entered into agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Free rehabilitation assistance is available to both adults and children, regardless of the reasons for deterioration in health. This applies to recovery from injuries, surgical interventions, serious illnesses, or complications that limit everyday activities.<\/p>\n
Rehabilitation services are provided within the framework of the Medical Guarantees Program. It offers full financing of treatment in medical institutions that have an agreement with the National Health Service of Ukraine. For patients, this means no costs.<\/p>\n
The guaranteed list of services includes physical therapy, with specially selected exercises to restore mobility and increase muscle strength, endurance, and coordination, tailored to the patient’s individual needs.<\/p>\n
Speech therapy is also available for people with communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments caused by injuries or illnesses.<\/p>\n
Occupational therapy is a necessary component of the recovery process, helping patients regain self-care skills and adapt to everyday life.<\/p>\n
Psychological support is also provided during rehabilitation, both for patients and their families. This helps to cope with emotional difficulties and adapt to the changes caused by the injury or illness. Relatives are also trained in basic care and rehabilitation skills so that they can continue to provide support at home.<\/p>\n
To benefit from outpatient rehabilitation, contact your family doctor or the supervising doctor. After assessing your health, an electronic referral is generated. Referrals for inpatient rehabilitation can only be issued by a doctor of the appropriate specialization, depending on the diagnosis or nature of the injury.<\/p>\n
The patient has the right to choose a medical institution for rehabilitation from the list specified in the agreement with the National Health Service.<\/p>\n
