The Pension Fund of Ukraine reminded people how to increase monthly pension payments without one-time supplements legally.<\/p>\n
We are discussing the possibility of changing the type of pension from a disability pension to an old-age pension, which can yield significant advantages in calculations, as provided by the Law of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Persons with disabilities have the right to switch to an old-age pension in accordance with the third paragraph of Article 45 of Law No. 1058. The main benefit of such a transition lies in a different approach to calculating payments.<\/p>\n
When determining an old-age pension, more current average wage indicators can be taken into account, which will directly affect the amount of payments. In reality, the difference in the amount received can be as high as 1,000 hryvnias, depending on the insurance period and the data available at the Pension Fund.<\/p>\n
The Fund emphasizes that only those who were officially employed for at least 2 years before applying can take advantage of this opportunity. This change is often beneficial for people approaching retirement age who have sufficient experience to calculate benefits under a more favorable scheme. It is important to note that nothing will happen automatically: to switch to an old-age pension, you must personally apply to the Pension Fund. Due to the lack of such an application, many people receive lower benefits, even though they are entitled to a different calculation.<\/p>\n
The law also sets limits for pension benefits. For people who are not working, the minimum pension cannot be less than 3,038 hryvnias, and after reaching the age of 65, this amount increases to 3,758 hryvnias. At the same time, there is an upper limit: the maximum pension cannot exceed 10 times the subsistence minimum for people who have lost their ability to work. In 2025, this amount will be 23,610 hryvnias.<\/p>\n
