In 2026, special reduction coefficients will be introduced for some pensioners, resulting in lower payments. The decision became known through a publication on the government portal.<\/p>\n
According to the new rules, several categories of persons will continue to receive reduced pensions at once:<\/p>\n
civil servants;<\/p>\n
prosecutors;
\npeople’s deputies;<\/p>\n
diplomats.
\nThis applies to those with pensions exceeding 10 times the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work. According to forecasts, in 2026 this amount will be 25,950 hryvnias.<\/p>\n
Special reduction coefficients will be introduced for these pensions, which will reduce only the part that exceeds ten times the subsistence minimum:<\/p>\n
0.5 – for pensions in the range from 10 to 11 subsistence minimums;<\/p>\n
0.4 – for pensions from 11 to 13 subsistence minimums;<\/p>\n
0.3 – for pensions from 13 to 17 subsistence minimums;
\n0.2 – for pensions from 17 to 21 subsistence minimums;
\n0.1 – for amounts exceeding 21 subsistence minimums.
\nThus, a pension of 25,950 hryvnias will be paid in full, while the specified reduction coefficients will be applied to a portion of the pension. However, these changes will not apply to participants in the anti-terrorist operation and people who defended Ukraine from Russian aggression, as well as the families of fallen defenders.<\/p>\n
In addition, in 2026, Ukraine plans to increase the minimum and maximum pensions in line with the increase in the subsistence minimum: the minimum pension will be 2,595 hryvnias, and the maximum – 25,950 hryvnias. The length of service required to retire at 60 will also increase (to 33 years), and additional payments for length of service will be recalculated.
