This winter is especially important for checking the contents of your home first aid kit, as the risk of shelling energy infrastructure can lead to heat and electricity outages. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has presented recommendations for the formation of a basic first aid kit for households.<\/p>\n
Doctors emphasize that in conditions of martial law, it is important for every family to be ready for independence, especially if there are people with chronic diseases in the family. It is recommended to prepare a supply of necessary medicines in advance for a period of two to four weeks.<\/p>\n
Among the elements of a standard first aid kit, it is necessary to include a high-quality hemostatic tourniquet and learn how to use it, since laboratory tourniquets for blood sampling are not suitable for stopping severe bleeding.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Health also advises to review the contents of the first aid kit, removing outdated products. They recommend abandoning the use of antiseptics such as brilliant green, iodine, and hydrogen peroxide. Instead, it is better to use 70% alcohol for cleaning hands and intact skin, and sterile saline for washing wounds.<\/p>\n
The basic first aid kit should include painkillers and antipyretics based on paracetamol or ibuprofen, modern sorbents, allergy medications, burn remedies, and solutions for restoring water-salt balance. It is also important to have dressings, sterile gloves, scissors, tweezers, a thermometer, a blood pressure monitor, and a pulse oximeter.<\/p>\n
