The head of the Desnyansky district state administration of Kyiv, Maksym Bakhmatov, stated that it is technically impossible to provide heating in the Troyeschyna region with generators. According to him, an effective alternative heat supply system should have been implemented several years ago, but it was not. The most serious situation is observed in Troyeschyna, the largest residential area of \u200b\u200bthe capital, where 500 to 700 thousand people live.<\/p>\n
Bakhmatov noted that the region found itself in a critical situation after the shutdown of CHP-6, which no longer supplies heat. This heating season, attempts to restart the system have been made 4 times, but heat is not reaching the houses, leaving about 700 residential buildings without heating. They are temporarily trying to compensate for the electricity problem. Still, according to Bakhmatov, he does not have complete information about the extent of damage to CHP-6 or the possibility of further attacks.<\/p>\n
The head of the RDA emphasized that excessive concentration of generation in a single facility makes the system vulnerable, as targeting a single large source can lead to serious consequences. Bakhmatov also noted that generators are unable to solve heating problems and expressed the opinion that a distributed generation system, with many small sources, would be more reliable than a single large thermal power plant.<\/p>\n
According to him, even a week or a month without heating is a disaster for a large city. He noted that preparations for the next heating season are practically absent, and the situation threatens to become more complicated. Bakhmatov reported that the district authorities do not have access to Kyivteploenergo’s strategic plans and do not know what solutions were proposed there.<\/p>\n
In the context of the crisis, the RDA focused on establishing heating points at schools, where residents can get heat, hot drinks, and food. State services and philanthropists help in organizing these points.<\/p>\n
According to Bakhmatov, the city transferred six mobile boiler houses to the Troyeschyna region to heat schools. Still, it turned out that the educational institutions had only small installations, while more powerful equipment was needed for normal operation.<\/p>\n
They are ready to accept socially vulnerable residents for overnight stays with the heating points, but so far, only a few people have used them. CHP-6 still does not supply a heat carrier, and there are practically no alternative supply options for the Troyeschyna region.
