In 2026, some Ukrainian pensioners may face additional checks on their pensions. This became known from the Pension Fund’s announcement.<\/p>\n
Standardized checks will be carried out during the analysis of pension cases, during which errors in calculations or inaccuracies in documents that affect the amount of pension payments may be revealed. One of the main reasons for claims of overpayment is the use of outdated or incorrect data when assigning a pension. For example, the employer may have provided incorrect information about wages or work experience, or the pensioner himself may have submitted false information that affected his right to receive a pension.<\/p>\n
According to current legislation, if an overpayment is detected, the recipients of the payments will be required to return the money. If the pensioner does not agree to a voluntary return of funds, the Pension Fund may go to court or apply a mechanism of gradual withholding of up to 20% of monthly payments until the debt is repaid.<\/p>\n
Pensioners are also required to notify the Pension Fund of changes in their lives that may affect payments. The main notifications that must be provided include a change of residence, employment or dismissal, as well as the start or termination of entrepreneurial activity. This is important because some supplements are intended only for non-working pensioners, and in the event of employment, the right to these supplements disappears.<\/p>\n
The Pension Fund also notes that overpayments may occur due to technical errors or inaccuracies in the data provided by the employer.
