Many Ukrainians continue to work after retirement, seeking to increase their financial capabilities. This allows them to receive a salary along with their pension and gives them the right to indexation and recalculation of payments every two years. However, there are important restrictions that can reduce the expected benefit.<\/p>\n
The main point is that pensioners who work do not have their payments increased due to changes in the subsistence minimum. In fact, the pension amount is fixed at the level that was relevant at the time of official employment after retirement.<\/p>\n
This is especially noticeable for people who receive a minimum pension. In normal situations, the state is obliged to compensate such citizens for achieving the current subsistence minimum. However, if the pensioner is working, such a supplement does not increase even after increasing social standards. Recalculation is possible only after dismissal.<\/p>\n
For example, if a person started working when the minimum pension was about 2,100 hryvnias, even if it increases to more than 2,500 hryvnias, their payment will remain at the same level as long as they remain in official employment status.<\/p>\n
And another critically important aspect concerns people who have reached the age of 65 and have a full insurance record. The state guarantees them a minimum pension, which from March 1, 2026 will be 4,213 hryvnias. However, this guarantee applies only to those pensioners who are not working.<\/p>\n
Thus, even if a person is over 65 and has the required length of service, continuing to work may receive less than the minimum established for their category. The pension increase will begin only after the end of employment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
