Dublin officials intend to significantly reduce financial assistance under the program for placing Ukrainians in private homes.<\/p>\n
According to information published in The Irish Times, monthly payments under the Accommodation Recognition Payment (ARP) program, which homeowners receive for providing apartments to Ukrainian refugees, may be reduced from 600 to 400 euros.<\/p>\n
The reasons for such changes are obvious: more and more Ukrainians are moving to independent housing, and some landlords are starting to take their apartments off the open market to rent them exclusively through the state ARP program. The new conditions will come into force in the near future and will be valid until at least March 2027.<\/p>\n
Strict rules began to be applied from the beginning of 2026, when real estate objects that were rented out before the start of a full-scale war were excluded from the program. In addition, the government is gradually abandoning the accommodation of refugees in hotels, guest houses and B&Bs, where there are currently more than 22 thousand contract places.<\/p>\n
The ARP program, which was introduced in 2022 to support homeowners who provide free shelter to Ukrainians, has been changed repeatedly. At first, payments ranged from 400 to 800 euros, later stabilized at 600 euros, and now the state is reviewing costs again. During the program, more than 42 thousand people have received a roof over their heads.<\/p>\n
Recall that earlier it was reported about restrictions on the admission of refugees in Switzerland, as well as about the simplification of requirements for Ukrainians in some EU countries.
