A serviceman who signed a contract after the start of a full-scale war turned to lawyers. His request was whether he could resign after the end of the contract and whether he would be able to go abroad.<\/p>\n
Lawyers note that dismissal is possible, but under certain conditions. The main one is that the contract must be concluded after February 24, 2022. The serviceman must also submit a report in advance about his unwillingness to continue service.<\/p>\n
Lawyer Olena Ponomarenko draws attention to the fact that automatic dismissal is not a practice. It is necessary to submit a report in advance – of course, the terms are determined by the contract itself. If these terms are not specified, she recommends submitting the document approximately 1-2 months before the end of the contract.<\/p>\n
Regarding leaving Ukraine after dismissal, there are also specific rules. Refusal from service in itself does not give the right to cross the border. You must have an official deferment or other legal grounds.<\/p>\n
In their absence, travel abroad remains limited, even for those who have completed their service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
