A major MMA tournament was held in Kyiv\u2019s STEREO PLAZA, where fighters from Brazil competed. The event was organized by the professional martial arts league BFLpro under the leadership of Mykola Kravchenko.<\/p>\n
This event was the first independent MMA event for BFLpro, says its founder, Mykola Kravchenko. Previously, the organization was engaged in holding boxing and kickboxing competitions, and in mixed martial arts it worked within the framework of co-organization.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn Ivano-Frankivsk, we jointly organized an MMA tournament with \u201cHAZARD\u201d, and now we have already held our own independent event. We plan to hold three or even five large-scale tournaments a year, plus two events for amateurs in order to popularize the sport and attract young people to professional competitions,\u201d Kravchenko noted.<\/p>\n
The tournament featured international fights, where Ukrainian fighters competed with three representatives of Brazil. Kravchenko also pointed out that many foreigners refused to come to Kyiv due to the military situation in the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn conditions of war, when there is a threat, many American and European athletes did not want to come. But those who came wanted to inspire Ukrainian youth and show that, despite all the difficulties, life goes on,\u201d the organizer said, thanking the foreign guests for their courage.<\/p>\n
Brazilian Wiverton Carvalho also attended the tournament, who fought Ukrainian Andriy Kucherenko, the winner of the World Games. The match ended in favor of the Ukrainian athlete.<\/p>\n
\u201cUkraine received us very well, there is a big community here. It is incredible that I have the opportunity to participate in this MMA tournament,\u201d Carvalho said.<\/p>\n
Another participant, Pedro Elias, expressed the opinion that for every Brazilian fighter, it is a dream to participate in such big events as the BFLpro tournament in Ukraine. “It is phenomenal. People welcomed us with great joy, as if we were part of their culture,” he added.<\/p>\n
Also among the participants was Vladislav Rudnev, an experienced combat sambo champion. His opponent was Brazilian Nonato Junior. Vladislav expressed his gratitude to his opponent, noting that an agreement for the fight was reached with several American athletes who ultimately refused due to the danger.<\/p>\n
“It was difficult to find someone who was willing to come here, so I am very grateful to my opponent. Despite the fact that he was very serious about winning, I did everything possible and won by knockout in the first round,” Vladislav said.<\/p>\n
The development of MMA in Ukraine is largely due to the fact that mixed martial arts are becoming increasingly popular around the world.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe strive to develop MMA in Ukraine and seriously declare ourselves on the international stage,\u201d \u2014 concluded Mykola Kravchenko.<\/p>\n
The professional martial arts league BFLpro (Balu Fighting League Pro) is focused on organizing sports fights, developing professional boxing, MMA and kickboxing in Ukraine, as well as creating a platform for young athletes so that they can realize their potential at a professional level. Charity is also an important aspect of the activity: during tournaments, auctions and collections are held in support of Ukrainian defenders.<\/p>\n
