On the Ukrainian border in Vinnytsia region, law enforcement officers discovered an interesting scheme with the hidden transportation of goods. During the inspection of a car passing through the “Mohyliv-Podilskyi” checkpoint, dozens of items resembling aircraft engine parts were found in the spare tire.<\/p>\n
This case was recorded during a routine inspection of the vehicle, when border guards together with customs officers drew attention to the spare tire. As a result of an in-depth inspection, it turned out that the tire had not been used for its intended purpose. Inside it, carefully wrapped in cloth, were 72 items that outwardly resembled aircraft engine components.<\/p>\n
All items were seized in accordance with the law. Law enforcement agencies were notified of the incident, and investigations are currently underway to clarify all the details of this case and the origin of the detected goods.<\/p>\n
In addition, several more attempts at illegal transportation of goods have recently been eliminated. In particular, Lviv customs officers disrupted three attempts to smuggle branded products, including clothing and cosmetics, with a total value of over 1 million hryvnias. Also, an old 19th-century book “Mademoiselle de Maupin” was found on the border with Romania, which was sent for examination.<\/p>\n
