Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation completed the investigation into the case of the head of the migration control department of the State Department of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Odesa region. The indictment has already been sent to the court. This official is suspected of illegal enrichment and concealment of real estate.<\/p>\n
The investigation established that the official, against whom a legal process is already underway for obtaining an illegal benefit, provided himself with assets whose total value exceeds his official income. DBR specialists discovered that in June 2024 he was detained for receiving money from foreigners. In particular, for 20 thousand US dollars, he promised to help a citizen of Moldova in solving migration issues in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
To hide the illegally acquired property, the official registered assets in the name of the mother. During the investigation, it was discovered that he did not include a number of important assets in his declaration, including:<\/p>\n
– a residential building in the center of Odessa with an area of 200.5 square meters. m with a land plot, the value of which exceeds UAH 7 million;
\n– a 2023 Mercedes-Benz G 400 D car for UAH 5.6 million;
\n– real estate formally owned by the mother, but actually controlled by him, including office premises, a recreation center, shopping areas and land plots in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Zatoka.<\/p>\n
Investigating the case, the investigators also found out that the declared 37 bitcoins worth more than UAH 57.7 million, which allegedly belong to the official’s wife, do not actually exist.<\/p>\n
In general, false information in the official’s declaration exceeds UAH 83 million. The difference between the family’s official income and real assets is more than UAH 13 million, and these funds have no legal sources.<\/p>\n
On the basis of the collected materials of the SBI, the court decided to confiscate the Mercedes car, the value of which is almost UAH 5.7 million, into state revenue.<\/p>\n
The official has already been dismissed from his post and is in custody. He is charged with illegal enrichment in accordance with Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. If found guilty, he faces up to 10 years in prison.<\/p>\n
Procedural management in this case is carried out by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, which also emphasizes significant abuses of state resources, which directly affect the financial stability of the country, making it difficult to finance important areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
