In Ukraine, the cost of a number of communal services has been reviewed, which will lead to an increase in costs for the population. According to the information of the relevant authorities, the biggest price increase occurred in the areas where the costs of energy carriers and infrastructure maintenance increased significantly.<\/p>\n
The new tariff regulation has already come into force or is being gradually implemented depending on the region. The prices for heating and hot water services increased the most. These sectors turned out to be the most vulnerable to the increase in the price of gas and electricity, as well as to the increase in the costs of network repair and maintenance. Utility companies explain the revision of tariffs by the need to cover the real costs of production and delivery of services to consumers.<\/p>\n
Also, in a number of cities, prices for water supply and drainage have been revised, the main reasons being the high level of wear and tear of pipelines, the increase in costs for electricity and reagents, as well as the need for equipment modernization. In some regions, the changes are moderate, but in others they have had a significant impact on household budgets.<\/p>\n
In general, further changes in tariffs depend on energy costs, the state of communal infrastructure and the amount of state support. Experts emphasize that without investment in the renewal of housing and communal services, it is unlikely that further price increases will be avoided in the future.<\/p>\n
