However, the law does not mention that men with wives who serve in the Armed Forces automatically receive the right to a deferment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lawyer Kateryna Anishchenko noted that a deferment is possible if the family is raising children under 18. However, a wife’s service in the Armed Forces does not guarantee an automatic deferment for her husband. For example, if the wife works in other law enforcement agencies, such as the police or the State Emergency Service, this will not affect the possibility of receiving a deferment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is essential that if a man is already serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and his wife continues to serve in the same army, he may be exempted from his duties. However, it is worth noting that the wife’s service must be in the military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some spouses try to use these discrepancies to avoid their husbands’ conscription because wives are usually not sent to combat zones, giving their husbands a chance to stay in the rear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The possibility of obtaining a deferment or demobilization for those men who have lost a close relative, or if their relatives have gone missing, has also been recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
