In May, Ukraine saw another price change for products and services, but not always in a positive direction. The State Statistics Service presented fresh data demonstrating significant changes in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the agency, the prices of fruit and pork increased the most\u2014by 7.9%, which is a significant increase. Beef, chicken, fish, bread, lard, vegetables, pasta, sugar, and soft drinks also increased in cost, ranging from 0.8% to 3.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, not everything is so gloomy\u2014the good news is the decrease in prices for eggs, rice, and butter, which was noted from 0.2% to 2.5%. This allowed many families to save a little on daily food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The price increase also affected alcoholic and tobacco products, but to a lesser extent \u2014 by 1.3%. The bulk of this growth was driven by tobacco prices, which rose 2.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The situation in the transport sector is mixed. While the cost of fuel and lubricants decreased by 2.2%, the overall transport category showed only a slight decrease of 0.3%. The main factor in the growth was the cost of road and rail transportation, which increased by 0.9% and 0.8%, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ukrainian economy has found ways to adapt despite the challenges posed by Russian aggression over the past nine years.
