Ukrainians risk becoming debtors, even when paying utility bills on time: three main reasons

Ukrainians sometimes receive notifications about debts, even if they have already paid their utility bills. Representatives of Cherkasyenergozbut LLC explained the reasons why this may happen.

Despite martial law, consumers must maintain payment discipline and pay their utility bills on time, particularly for electricity. In the event of late payment, the consumer receives a notification about the outstanding debt, which may result in the accrual of penalties or even the disconnection of services.

It turned out that those who have already made a payment can also be included in the list of debtors. This may be for several reasons:

The phone number is incorrectly specified. If the number does not match the personal account, the consumer must contact the call center to correct the data.

Delay in crediting the payment. When payment is made through Ukrposhta, funds may take up to seven business days to arrive in the account. In wartime, delays may also occur when using other payment services.

Error during payment. If the consumer incorrectly indicated a personal account, the funds may not be credited to the account. In this case, you should contact the institution where the payment was made or the service provider.

It was previously reported that fines might be imposed for late payment of utility services, and Ukrainians have expressed dissatisfaction with the new tariffs, which, in their opinion, benefit only the oligarchs. The media also emphasized the need to carefully read the terms, as some Kyiv residents noticed that their utility costs had doubled without drawing attention.
