Russia announced receiving an invitation to the G20 summit
Russian representatives have announced that they have received an invitation to participate in the G20 summit, which will be held in the United States. This information was announced by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin, who noted that participation is planned at the highest level, although the format of participation is still being discussed.
A final decision from Moscow has not yet been made, and the situation may change before the event. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that various factors influence the decision-making process. “God knows what may happen before that time,” Pankin noted.
The G20 summit is scheduled for December 14-15, 2026 in Miami, USA. The agenda usually includes economic and security issues, and the event will bring together leaders of the world’s leading economies.
The format of countries’ participation may change depending on the political situation, and some states may participate remotely or in person. Usually, such decisions are made immediately before the summit.
The last time Vladimir Putin attended the G20 summit in person was in 2019. Since then, his participation has been limited or remote due to international circumstances.
More details are expected to emerge closer to the summit date. Participating countries will determine their level of representation, depending on political and security conditions.
France has already adjusted the start time of the G7 summit to avoid a clash with celebrations marking the 80th birthday of US President Donald Trump.
