SBU detained three participants in a criminal scheme in the Bila Tserkva district for tax evaders

In Bila Tserkva, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, stopped the operation of an illegal scheme for evading mobilization. During the special operation, three people were detained who organized a mechanism for “exemption” from the draft for a certain reward.

According to the investigation, the defendants solved the issues of those liable for military service, offering them services that included canceling summonses and exclusion from military registration. They were also engaged in the registration of “reservations”, which made it possible to avoid mobilization.

Among the detainees were an instructor of one of the units of the Bila Tserkva Territorial Recruitment Center and his former colleague, who is currently serving in the Chernihiv region. Together with them, the action was supported by the deputy director of an enterprise specializing in the production of tactical footwear and clothing, through which fictitious employment of “clients” was registered to obtain reservations.

The people who were hired actually did not perform any duties at the enterprise and did not even show up for work. Law enforcement officers recorded illegal activity and detained the suspects while receiving another bribe for removing a person from the wanted list.

During searches of the apartments and cars of the detainees, mobile phones, documents and cash obtained illegally were seized. All three have already received a notice of suspicion under articles that provide for liability for bribery with prior conspiracy. The court is now considering the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention.

If their guilt is proven, the detainees face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are identifying everyone who may be involved in this illegal scheme. The operation was carried out jointly with police representatives under the supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
