Ukraine on the frontline: expert explains what steps Europe should take to protect itself from Russia

On the “7 Steps” platform, Pavlo Zhovnirenko expressed the opinion that Europe should unite its military-industrial complex and defense systems to ensure its security. He argues that only unity can protect the continent from Russian aggression: “Europe must become a single military camp, otherwise it will face a serious threat from Russia.”

The expert emphasized that Ukraine, contrary to how it is often perceived, is Europe’s frontline. He pointed out the advantages of European military funding to help Ukraine, which is fighting for its independence. Zhovnirenko noted that although this may seem unequal, Ukraine should turn to Europe for support.

He also warned of possible dangers if Europe does not take measures to counter Russian aggressors: “Russia will try to blackmail Europe in order to dictate its demands. If this does not work, the threat of nuclear weapons will become relevant.”

As an example from the past, he recalled the events of 2025, when Russian drones and aircraft invaded the airspace of European countries, which prompted them to intensify their actions.
