Law enforcement officers detained individuals who set fire to Ukrzaliznytsia facilities and military vehicles

In several regions of Ukraine, law enforcement officers have discovered a group of arsonists who were acting in favor of Russian special services. They have been notified of suspicion and may receive life imprisonment.

Six people who carried out the aggressor’s orders by setting fire to Ukrzaliznytsia facilities and military equipment have been detained. The perpetrators had hoped to earn easy money by receiving instructions via Telegram channels, but instead of the promised reward, they faced criminal prosecution.

In the Kyiv region, police detained a 25-year-old drug addict who set fire to a relay cabinet of a railway traffic light on the orders of a Russian agent. Later, he was instructed to set off an explosion in the building of a territorial procurement center, but law enforcement officers prevented this crime.

In Dnipro, another arsonist was detained – a 31-year-old displaced person from Kramatorsk who set fire to a relay cabinet near a railway station. In the Zhytomyr region, police detained three young people who set fire to relay cabinets and two military vehicles undergoing technical inspection after hostilities. They tried to carry out a new order to set fire to a post office but were detained before the operation could be carried out.

In the Chernihiv region, a repeat offender was detained who, on the instructions of Russian agents, set fire to a relay cabinet in the Boryspil district.

During searches, mobile devices, flammable materials, and other material evidence confirming their activities in favor of the enemy were seized from the detainees.

According to Ukrainian legislation, the detainees are charged with two of the most serious crimes: sabotage during martial law and obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
