Vegetables, cereals and meat: how prices will change by autumn

Consumers are forced to pay attention to prices that have started to rise again.

According to experts, no reduction in food prices should be expected until the autumn season, writes RBC-Ukraine.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine, inflation rates have increased, and the annual price increase for fresh products has reached 22%. The price increase for vegetables is especially noticeable: cabbage has risen by 267% and now costs 49.7 hryvnias, while carrots have increased by 205% and now cost 39 hryvnias. The cost of “borscht set” products has increased by an average of 52%.

Other products are not far behind: buckwheat has risen in price to 35.9 hryvnias (+44%), sunflower oil – to 80.2 hryvnias (+40%), and butter – to 108 hryvnias (+32%). The price increase also applies to flour, which now costs 21.4 hryvnias (+25%). Experts attribute this increase to a low harvest and spring frosts.

Meat prices have also increased. For example, pork neck now costs 330 hryvnias (+20%), and beef – 317 hryvnias (+6%). The decrease in livestock and reduced production have also affected price dynamics. Chicken prices are rising due to higher feed prices.

Prices for sliced bread weighing 650g have increased from 41.5 hryvnias to 49.5 hryvnias per month. This is due to rising prices for electricity, logistics, and flour. The threat of drought to the 2025 wheat harvest may also lead to new price spikes.

Various factors, including inflation, producer costs, logistical challenges, exchange rates, and weather conditions, influence product prices. At the same time, there is positive news: by the fall, prices for seasonal vegetables are expected to decrease, as well as stability in the egg and sunflower oil market. Despite the difficulties associated with the war in Ukraine, the country is working and holding on. Therefore, it is essential to support the government through donations and volunteering.

It was previously reported that milk, kefir, and sour cream are becoming a luxury for Ukrainians: prices in supermarkets are reaching record levels.

It is expected that low prices for products will not last long. Experts predict a decrease in prices for seasonal berries – more details on Znayu.ua.

We also remind you that prices for buckwheat, pasta, flour, and sugar have changed in supermarkets for basic products.
