In Russia, “heroes” attacked drones with stones – the governor promises rewards

In the Russian city of Usolye-Sibirskoye, locals tried to stop a drone attack using stones. One of those who showed courage in this situation was Belarusian citizen Anton Matskevich, who was promised a reward.

According to Russian media reports, in particular the SHOT Telegram channel, the man accidentally found himself in a parking lot next to a truck from which drones were allegedly launched. Immediately noticing the situation, Anton, together with several daredevils, began throwing stones at the drones to prevent them from taking off.

A recently published video shows how Russians, without any air protection, try to “fight” the drones with their bare hands, with stones in their hands.

The governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, said that he plans to award these “heroes” with state medals.

It is known that the drones did take off from the back of a truck. The operation, codenamed “Web,” was prepared by the Security Service of Ukraine for one and a half years. It came as a surprise to the Russians, and their military did not have time to raise their planes – they did not expect that Ukrainian drones could reach such distances.

According to preliminary data, the drones caused significant damage, as approximately 40 aircraft, including A-50, Tu-95, and Tu-22M3 bombers, were damaged. The information confirms that all Tu-95s that were there at the time of the attack were destroyed at the Olenya base – these were the aircraft that launched missiles at Ukraine.

As a result of the attack, more than 95 strategic bombers and about 20 other combat aircraft were at risk.

Additionally, it is reported that Russia is actively relocating Kh-101 missiles to the Engels-2 airfield, with eight large Il-76 transport aircraft delivering them in just four days.

Against the background of these events, a meeting was held in the Kremlin in connection with the large-scale attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on strategic airfields where Russian aerospace forces are located. According to information from pro-Russian sources, the possibility of using the so-called “Oreshnik” is being considered—a plan whose details remain shrouded in secrecy for now. Still, it has already been discussed in the context of escalation scenarios.
