President of Ukraine: Russia can be forced to end the war – we are on the right track

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed confidence that the country is approaching the moment when it will be possible to force Russia to stop the war. In his opinion, this was made possible by military operations on the territory of the Russian Federation and the consolidation of support from the United States and Europe.

The President said this in an interview with the American television channel ABC News. According to him, the situation is reaching a critical point at which Ukraine’s efforts and international support can alter the Kremlin’s plans.

“We are very close to the moment when we can force Russia to stop the war. Our operation inside the country, despite their indignation, is already having an effect,” Zelensky stressed.

He also emphasized the pivotal role of the United States in achieving peace. The President noted that the sanctions imposed by the United States are the only effective means of pressure on Moscow. “We support all US initiatives regarding peace negotiations. However, Russia is not ready for agreements,” he added.

The President clarified that Ukraine does not rely solely on international partners for its security. The country is prepared to defend itself and possesses the necessary resources for this purpose. “We will not allow ourselves to be destroyed. If there are no other options left, we will fight. And Russia understands this,” Zelensky noted.

At the same time, Western media reports that during German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s visit to Washington, he attempted to persuade US President Donald Trump to make specific commitments to support Ukraine. However, according to sources, Trump expressed the opinion that Ukraine may need to fight a little more.

These statements by Zelensky served as a reminder to partners of the need for joint action to pressure Russia into achieving peace. It is worth noting that the recent SBU operation “Website,” in which part of the Russian strategic aviation was destroyed, significantly increased the escalation of the conflict.
